Sensible Transfers : Barcelona

The Spanish giants have been on the decline for quite a while now, atleast by their sextuple standards and the roar that the MSN trio created in the spanish and champions league. They are facing problems off the field as well, being in debt of approximately a billion euros.

They no longer look the same threat they used to and have recently been embarrassed at Camp Nou by Paris Saint Germain where the match ended 4-1 to the French. They really need to bring their spark back and here are a few areas where they need to work on to get back to winning ways.

The Speedy Defender.

Barcelona miserably failed to play a highline against PSG and even though their tactics may have been right, they didn't have the pace in their defenders to pull it off. Gerard Pique is well past his prime and Barca need a young and pacy centre back in order to play their high line. Even though they will have Todibo returning from loan, they still need another centeral defender to solve the puzzle.

Best Option) Edmond Tapsoba

The 6'4 Burkina Faso centre half has been phenomenal for Bayer Leverkusen in recent times. At the age of 22, the CB averages 2.2 tackles per game, 1.5 interceptions and 2.2 clearances per game which is better than Gerard's 1 tackle per game, 1.6 interceptions and 2.6 clearances per game. These stats will only better with age and he is much faster than the veteran. Having signed a new contract recently, he will cost Barca a hefty fee of 45-50 million euros but will be worth every million spent on him.

The Young Suarez

Barcelona really made a mistake letting go of Suarez thinking he was past his prime, but he is still the joint top goalscorer in the league. Watching Griezmann underperform week in week out also leads to the conclusion that another striker is needed.

Best Option) Alexander Isak

The 21 year old swede has scored 12 goals and assisted twice in 16 appearance for Real Sociedad this season. He has scored 6 more goals in 4 less appearances than Barca's  current striker Griezmann and being of a young age, he is only to get better with time and experience. Being of the same league, and having three years left on his contract, he will cost them about 30-35million and having performed in the league for quite some while, he will be the perfect prospect for Barca's attack and will be a long term solution to their attacking half.
