Worthy or Not? Arsenal edition

Worthy or Not? Arsenal Edition In this series, we’ll be rating some of the most solid transfer rumours for each club. The players will be rated on their performances, their price tags and how well they would settle into the club’s system. Today the club being discussed would be Arsenal, let’s see if the targets are worthy or not! Worthy or Not? 1) Ben White : Brighton & Hove Albion Arsenal are rumoured to be paying 50 million Euros for The 23-year-old English centre half. He has played 36 games this season for the Seagulls and has been quite impressive. He averages 11.54 pressures per 90, 1.58 tackles, 1.27 interceptions, 1.95 blocks, 2.2 clearances and 1.47 aerials won per 90. As Brighton do compete in the same league, and White made the cut of the Euro 2020 squad, his evaluation seems to be higher than his quality. And for a club like Arsenal, splashing 50 million on a centre back may not be the best move. Rating : 7/10 (Not Worthy) 2) Manuel Locatelli : Sassuolo Arsenal have lau...

Image
It’s impossible to talk about transfers without a new Harry Kane rumour. This week, we’ll be covering some rumours and almost done deals like Rodrigo De Paul, Manuel Locatelli etc. The summer is just getting started and the transfer heat is finally being felt. Transfer Talk : Harry Kane Another day, another Kane rumour. According to strong sources, it looks like Manchester City have submitted their final offer for the Spurs striker. The deal initially includes 100 million euros. Players such as Raheem Sterling, Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus could also be a part of the deal. Spurs looks set to deny this offer, but with the given players and money, they could finally have the rebuild they’ve dreamt of. Rodrigo De Paul Rodrigo De Paul to Atletico De Madrid is coming soon. The transfer fee is around 35 million euros, and the player is set to complete his medical in Madrid. The Argentine has been the star man for the struggling Udinese Calcio. England vs Scotland Recap

Image
England vs Scotland (0-0) didn’t exactly live up to the hype but it was certainly a well fought match. Kieran Tierney returned to Scotland’s first 11 and we also saw the integration of Luke Shaw and Reece James in the England side. Both teams were quite evenly matched and none of them looked like they were going to grab the winner. Despite England’s quality, Scotland put them on the backfoot and tried to go for the win. Three Lions, Zero Creativity England looked quite dull and uncreative while going forward. If only they had a player who could create chances out of nothing and give them an edge. Starting Luke Shaw and Reece James did work out as they were good and played their part. Harry Kane has not looked himself in the initial games of the group stage. He was invisible during huge periods of the game and couldn’t impact the game much. He had the least touches in the first half and only one in the Scotland box. Jordan Pickford secured a point for England and was arguably one of the...

Mason Mount or Phil Foden : Which star shines brightest?

Image
Mount or Foden : Which star shines brightest? Mason Mount or Phil Foden? This debate has been one of the most popular ones when talking about young English talents. Both the youngsters have had brilliant seasons, where Foden won the PL title and Carabao Cup whereas Mount won the Champions League. Even though the youngsters play in similar positions, their roles in the team aren’t exactly the same. Today, we will come to a verdict on which youngster is better. Mason Mount : Chelsea’s Finest Mason Mount has been one of the best and most consistent performers in this Chelsea side for the past two years. He has bagged a total of 11 goals and 7 assists for Chelsea across all competitions this season. This also includes a crucial assist in the Champions League final against Manchester City. Not to forget, he also scored a crucial freekick in the last gameweek in 19/20 to secure Champions League football for Chelsea. Offensively, Mason Mount averaged 2 SpG ( shots per game ), 2.1 key pa...

Targets to Acquire : Leeds United

Image
Leeds United have had quite the season, especially for a newly-promoted side. They are unbeaten at home against the big 6 and certainly put up a show every game. Leeds have proven that they’re here to stay, but they need a few signings to compete for Europe. In this article, we’ll be covering the areas they need to improve and who would be the feasible options. Position: Central Attacking Midfielder (CAM) Leeds need to integrate an energetic CAM into the team. They are heavily dependent on creation from the flanks by Raphinha and Jack Harrison. Pablo Hernández, although a legend to the team, might not have the stamina and fitness to fit into Bielsa’s team anymore, having also sat out most of the season anyway. Leeds need a bit more of Brazillian Magic to compete for Europe. Targets to Acquire: Matheus Pereira Matheus Pereira has arguably been one of the best players of the newly relegated side, West Bromwich Albion. While only considering base stats, He has 17 g/a ( 11 goals and ...

Targets to Acquire : Arsenal

Image
Targets to Acquire : Arsenal Arsenal have had a better second half of the season, but it still isn't good enough. For competing in the top 4, major changes needs to be made. A few major signings and sellings need to be made in order for a proper rebuild to take place. In this article, I'll be covering upon 3 major signings which need to be made during the summer of 2021. Now these signings may be a bit unrealistic but some frequent rumours may suggest a slight chance of them taking place.  Position : Right Back (RB) A player in this position should be a priority signing for Arsenal. Considering the form Hector Bellerin has been and the rumours which suggest his exit, they really need to dive into the market and bring in a new signing. Cedric is always an option but should remain as the backup right back and considering Callum Chambers injury prone state and lack of game time, I would still suggest for the Gunners to look outside of their own club for this one. Target : Tariq La...

Next Best Arsenal Manager

Image
Next Best Arsenal Manager Arsenal have truly had one of the worst falls from grace. A club that once used to be a regular top 4 competitor is now struggling to get into a European spot. Mikel Arteta, current manager, has had a questionable season and a half. His job isn’t under scrutiny currently but his time is running out. Arsenal should consider this candidate as their best option to have a shot at returning to their Glory days. Graham Potter ( Brighton ) Graham Potter has caught the eye of the media in recent times due to how his side Brighton & Hove Albion play. His team is known for underperforming xG massively, creating tons of chances, and also setting up very well defensively. Defensively: Graham Potter is usually known for his attacking football but his defensive methods often go unnoticed. This season only Man City (25.7) and Chelsea (27.9) have conceded fewer quality chances than Brighton (33.2). For a team that sits 17th in the table, they have only conce...
