Sensible Transfers : PSG

Image
Sensible Transfers : PSG Paris Saint Germain have a had a season of ups and downs as even though they thrashed Barcelona 4-1 away, they sit 3rd in the Ligue 1, which by their standards domestically, simply isn't good enough. They have been below their expectations and injuries of crucial players such as Neymar and Di Maria has been well noticed in their games. Here are a few areas thats Poch's side need to strengthen in order to dominate domestically and internationally. The CAM Reunion Best Option) Dele Alli Paris have one of the worlds best attack force which includes the likes of Mbappe, Di Maria, Neymar, Kean, etc. and they have managed to average 2.2 goals per match in the french league, but this number will shoot up exponentially if they were to have an attacking midfielder who could string passes in the final third for the forwards ahead. Dele Alli would be the best option here as he has already been a star man under the current PSG coach and wouldn't have a problem ...

Sensible Transfers : Barcelona

Sensible Transfers : Barcelona The Spanish giants have been on the decline for quite a while now, atleast by their sextuple standards and the roar that the MSN trio created in the spanish and champions league. They are facing problems off the field as well, being in debt of approximately a billion euros. They no longer look the same threat they used to and have recently been embarrassed at Camp Nou by Paris Saint Germain where the match ended 4-1 to the French. They really need to bring their spark back and here are a few areas where they need to work on to get back to winning ways. The Speedy Defender. Barcelona miserably failed to play a highline against PSG and even though their tactics may have been right, they didn't have the pace in their defenders to pull it off. Gerard Pique is well past his prime and Barca need a young and pacy centre back in order to play their high line. Even though they will have Todibo returning from loan, they still need another centeral defender to s...

Arsenal vs Manchester City

Arsenal vs Manchester City ( 0-1 ) Arsenal were outclassed and dominated last night by Man City's high press and ability to win the ball back in the opposition. In this tweet, I'll be covering on things which Manchester City got right and what Arsenal got wrong. City Press All The Way: Manchester City got off to a great start, which saw them score in the opening 90 seconds at the Emirates. It was quite shocking to see Sterling (5'7) win a header ahead of the likes of Rob Holding (6'2) and Pablo Mari (6'3) who had been caught off-guard and complete froze in the box. Apart from the early lead, City pressed high up on the field causing arsenal to pass and play in the back which lead to several errors being committed by their defenders and midfielders. This press did end up giving Manchester City more chances and on another day they would've easily managed to score 2-3 more goals. During the game, Manchester City were facing some counter attacking threats by the Gun...

Arsenal vs Leeds United

Image
Arsenal vs Leeds United (4-2) Arsenal arguably played some of their best football in months in the first half against Leeds United. Today we saw Martin Odegaard start his first game for Arsenal and he certainly didn’t disappoint. Leeds United decided to play out from the back as usual which saw Arsenal press high up on the field since the very first minute. Leeds had a few changes in their lineup which saw Shackleton start and also missing out on Kalvin Phillips due to a muscle injury, and his absence was felt during the game as leeds looked quite spineless in the midfield in the first half. There was a discussion going around on whom to start? Odegaard or Emile Smith Rowe and Mikel Arteta ended up starting both of them to end the discussion, seeing ESR shift as their left attacking midfielder in their 4231 formation. The midfield three were brilliant in the first half where Saka was causing troubles for Allioski and Cooper since the initial minutes of the game. Cedric however lo...

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur (3-0) Pep’s City have been unreal this season and have gone on to grab their 16th consecutive win in all competitions. They played some brilliant football which saw them dominate Spurs throughout the game and not even for a second did it feel like they were going to bottle it. City ended the game with 60% of the possession and most of the game was played in the spurs half with the likes of Sterling, Gundogan and Foden wriggling past the spurs defenders and it almost felt like they were messing around with them. Spurs give away a penalty which looked like Hojbjerg clashed with Ilkay in the box and both players seemed to have lost balance but due to their being sufficient contact made by the Viking, the penalty was given.  A truly heartbreaking moment took place when Ederson came up to the half line to take the penalty but was sent back by Bernado Silva. Although Rodri scored, it was an unconvincing penalty and slipped past through Lloris. Hopeful...

Leicester City vs Liverpool

Image
Leicester City vs Liverpool (3-1) Liverpool got off to a lively start where you could see them press high up the pitch since the very first minute, this lead to Leicester looking hesitant while passing around the back as most of their passes were getting intercepted or misplaced. Salah and Mane both missed out on game changing opportunities where it looked like Mane felt that he lacked confidence infront of goal and Mo Salah appeared to rather go down in the box and claim a penalty rather than take on the shot. Most of the first half was played in Leicester’s half but the foxes did show threat on the counters with an early scare to the Debutant Kabak who slept of and let Vardy slip into the box while lobbing the ball over Alisson on to the roof of the net. Vardy even got a chance at goal again where he struck the crossbar but that may have been offside. Thiago still hasn’t shown his brilliance and seemed to lose the ball quite a lot, but he has been a good sport and has his ...

Sensible Transfers : Arsenal

The gunners have had their ups and downs in the last two seasons having finishing 8th in 19/20 season where they got off to a terrible start which lead to Unai Emery getting sacked and replaced by former gunner Mikel Arteta. Although Arteta couldn’t save the gunners premier league journey he did manage to win the FA cup beating Manchester city and Chelsea in the semi final and final respectively. Arsenal currently sit 11th in the premier league and although have dominated their UEL group stage,  they still require key signings to compete for the top 6 next year onwards.  To find out which players to suggest, we need to first identify the areas in which Arsenal need to strengthen to get back to winning ways. The first and most important position for Arsenal to strengthen would be … The Magician  Best Option) Martin Ã˜degaard Martin is yet to make an impact in the Arsenal side but has looked promising in flashes where he has been subbed on twice and showed h...

Sensible Transfers : Liverpool

This is a new series in which i’ll be covering over players that I believe would be the most suitable transfers for the club depending on the transfer budget and play style of the player. Today the team in discussion would be : Liverpool. The merseyside reds have fallen from grace in the current premier league season due to crucial injuries of Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and their star signing Thiago Alcantrara having trouble finding his quintuple winning form with Bayern Munich. They have also lost three consecutive home games to Burnley, Brighton and Manchester City respectively which has destroyed the Anfield reputation held over years. To find out which players to suggest, we need to first identify the areas in which Liverpool need to strengthen to get back to winning ways. The first and most important position for Liverpool to strengthen would be ... The Finisher :  Best Option) Olivier Giroud Olivier Giroud is a highly underrated Striker, and even though he may be ...

Arsenal Implode while United put 9 past The Saints

Image
It is impossible to go a whole gameweek without having a controversy take place in the premier league. Two atrocious results took place last night at the Molineux Stadium and Old Trafford with both Arsenal and Southampton seeing two red cards each and interestingly both games had one controversial red received. Lets start of with the controversy which took place at the Molineux Stadium. Arsenal had been dominating wolves for 47 mins of the first half ( 45 + 2 ), where they had Bukayo Saka hitting the post in the opening minutes, a goal ruled out due to Lacazette being offside and then finally having Pepe break the deadlock with a wonderful goal from his weaker foot which stunned everyone due to him being known as a one footed player. The first controversy begins when Leno shot the ball across the half way line at the 47th minute and the referee had his whistle in his mouth but didn’t blow it despite the time being up which lead to the counter where Willian Jose from Wolves goes d...
