Sensible Transfers : Arsenal

The gunners have had their ups and downs in the last two seasons having finishing 8th in 19/20 season where they got off to a terrible start which lead to Unai Emery getting sacked and replaced by former gunner Mikel Arteta. Although Arteta couldn’t save the gunners premier league journey he did manage to win the FA cup beating Manchester city and Chelsea in the semi final and final respectively.

Arsenal currently sit 11th in the premier league and although have dominated their UEL group stage,  they still require key signings to compete for the top 6 next year onwards. To find out which players to suggest, we need to first identify the areas in which Arsenal need to strengthen to get back to winning ways. The first and most important position for Arsenal to strengthen would be …

The Magician

 Best Option) Martin Ã˜degaard

Martin is yet to make an impact in the Arsenal side but has looked promising in flashes where he has been subbed on twice and showed his Real Sociedad bits in the game versus Aston Villa. The 22 year old has been knocking around for quite a while and was signed by Real Madrid in 2015 at the age of 16. He was destined to be their next magnifico but had trouble finding his form having spent his years on loan at clubs such SC Heerenveen and SBV Vitesse until finally flourishing in the Real Sociedad side in 19/20 where he had 4 goals and 6 assists 29 appearances for the club having averaged 2 key passes per game. Being 22 years old, Martin will surely improve on those stats and would be a long term replacement for the departed Mesut Ozil. Even though there has been no option to buy with the loan, Odegaard has been rumoured to want a permanent move with Arsenal if Zidane stays at Real Madrid and therefore the deal is very much possible in the region of 45-55 million euros.

Another option would be sticking with Emile Smith Rowe who has looked phenomenal in his few appearances with the club but he is injury prone and can’t be relied on as they're main source of magic in the midfield.

An equally important position to strengthen for Arsenal would be …

The Stone Wall

  Best Option) Martin Hinteregger

Martin Hinterreger has been the backbone of Eintracht Frankfurt’s defence season. He has already made 30 appearances for the german side and averages 2.7 tackles per game, 1.6 interceptions and 3.4 clearances per game. These stats trump over Arsenals star defender Gabriel who has averaged 1.1 tackles per game, 1.4 interceptions and 3 clearances per game in the premier league. Him and Gabriel would be the perfect defensive duo for the present and future of Arsenal and would bring stability in the defence. The 28 year old has a market value of 18 million euros and would be brought to the emirates at a fee of around 25-30 million.

 2nd Best Option) Evan Ndicka

Evan Ndicka is a 6’4 frenchmen who plays as a central defender for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. The 21 year old wall has been improving himself in the Bundesliga for the last 4 seasons and now averages 1.5 tackles per game, 2.1 interceptions and 2.9 clearances per game bettering Rob Holdings stats which are 1.4 tackles per game, 0.9 interceptions and 4.1 clearances per game. He would make an ideal duo with Gabriel Magalhaes and would bring some balance and sturdiness into the defence of the gunners. Having a market value of 22.5 million euros, he would cost around 25-30 million euros to bring to the emirates stadium.
