Sensible Transfers : Real Madrid
Sensible Transfers : Real Madrid
Here we have another Spanish giant which seems to have fallen of its throne internationally ever since their star man Cristiano Ronaldo bid farewell. Even though they did win the domestic double last season, their performance level has dipped ever since, as they sit 3rd in the table and had an unconvincing win against Atalanta away from home.
Their replacement star signing also hasn't been performing up to his expected level with Eden Hazard having a total of only 5 goals and 6 assists in the two seasons at Beranbeu having spent most of his time injured. Here are some key areas where I will believe Real Madrid need to strengthen.
The Complete Striker : Erling Haaland
The Norwegian star has scored 43 goals in 45 matches for Borussia Dortmund, he averages a goal every 60 minutes and holds several ridiculous records only at the age of 20. Even though Karim Benzema has been phenomenal for Real this season having scored 17 and assisted 5, he works much better as a false 9 striker and if paired with Halaand, the duo would cause havoc in the Spanish League. The 6'4 Machine has a release clause of over 100 million euros which will be active from 2022, but Real should be able to poach him for around a fee of 110 million euros, and having already proven his goal scoring ability to the whole world, he would be the perfect next Galactico.
The Maestro : James Maddison
Madrid really need to look into signing creative midfielders as Odegaard has made it clear that he wouldn't like to play under Zidane. James is the perfect candidate for this place, having scored 11 goals and assisted 6 times this season already. The 24 year old averages 1.8 key passes per game and has really started to shine under Brendan Rodgers this season. Another option would be Jack Grealish who may better Madisson in stats, but would cost Madrid another 100 million + , therefore Maddison would be the better option costing madrid a fee in the region of 60-65 million euros.
Ramos Replacement: Milan Skriniar
The Slovakian defender has been an absolute unit in the defense for Inter in the last few seasons. The 26 year old has averaged 1.5 tackles per game, 0.9 interceptions and 2.9 clearances per game compared to Sergio Ramos's 1.1 tackles per game, 1.5 interceptions and 2.1 clearances per game and Raphael Varane's 0.9 tackles per game, 1.3 interceptions and 3.1 clearances per game. This isn't an urgent area which real madrid need to look into but he would be the ideal signing to bring in if Varane or Ramos were to leave. The Slovakian would again cost madrid a hefty fee of 60-65 million euros, but would definitely help Real get back to their European Dominance.
